Wigg Island premieres fungi-inspired art!

07 November 2011

Runcorn school children were the first to visit the new fungi sculptures designed by artists Mike Green and Angela Sidwell, in collaboration with The Friends of Wigg Island.

Funding for the project was secured by The Mersey Forest from local chemicals manufacturer INEOS ChlorVinyls through the Landfill Communities Fund.

The sculptures were created from metal and resin, and aim to help people identify the different seasonal species that can be found in the site.

After the exclusive visit of St.Augustine's Catholic Primary School and The Brow Primary School, the art feature will be open to the public on Saturday 5th November at 1pm.
