The final draft is now being approved by our core local authority partners.   The government-approved Forest Plan sets out a comprehensive vision in which Merseyside and North Cheshire is one of the best places in the country to work and live. This vision is shared across our entire partnership and belongs to all of us, whether you're a parent raising your children in The Mersey Forest or an entrepreneur investing in Merseyside's economy.   The final version of The Mersey Forest Plan will soon be complete and will be officially launched in 2014. In the meantime, as the new tree-planting season approaches, we look forward to continuing to working in partnership to get more from trees. Local authorities gained £13 worth of green projects for every £1 they invested in The Mersey Forest in 2012/13.   The local authorities' combined annual contribution of £167,481 led to the delivery of £2.5million of projects right here on our doorsteps thanks to the way The Mersey Forest Team levers in extra funds. Halton highlights 1,849 trees planted in Halton, increasing the area's tree cover 19 street trees restored, brightening Halton's streets 31ha of habitat restored, improving Halton's green spaces Latest local news Feel better outside - Halton's Natural Health Service pilot launches Halton residents are being encouraged to reap the health benefits of spending time outdoors through a new health and wellbeing programme.
