Our work - Green infrastructure planning

Green infrastructure is our life support system - the network of trees, parks, green spaces, canals and rivers that lies within and between our towns and cities.

We champion the importance of planning and developing resilient green infrastructure that can provide a wealth of social environmental and economic benefits.

We do that through the planning and delivery of The Mersey Forest Plan and by developing a robust evidence base, drawing on the latest research and mapping to target green infrastructure creation and enhancements in the places where it will have the greatest impact.

As well as writing Strategic Plans, such as the Liverpool City Region Green Infrastructure Framework, and supporting the delivery of projects such as Urban GreenUP, we have also worked with Liverpool John Moores University to develop a Natural Capital Assessment Tool. This allows us to show the benefits our work deliver to The Mersey Forest Plan.

We also host a green infrastructure valuation toolkit called GI-Val.

Watch our video about green infrastructure projects we've be involved with.
