Woodland advice and grants for landowners

With funding available to cover up to 100% of costs to help you plant a woodland on your land, this is your chance to create a brighter future for you, your family, wildlife and the climate.
Funding and free advice

The Mersey Forest has years of experience helping local landowners and farmers establish woodlands across Merseyside and Cheshire.

We can provide grants that cover up to 100% of the cost of your tree planting project and 15 years of maintenance payments to help your woodland to thrive.

One of our experienced woodland advisor will visit your site to help you select suitable tree species, and support you with site design, and the wider planning, funding, and planting process, making sure the woodland works for you, your business and the local environment.

Our help is completely free and our grants cover protection and related infrastructure costs including tree guards, fencing and paths.

Planting trees on your land can provide a range of benefits, from offering shelter and shade for livestock to improving soil quality, managing water flow and attracting more pollinators and wildlife to the area. By working with us you can put down roots that will last for generations.

Watch the video of our event, Creating Value from Woodlands for information about funding opportunties.

Our tree planting season runs from October to March each year.

Get in touch today and transform your land with trees.
