Lakes, rose gardens, historic buildings and a playground adorn this sanctuary in the heart of Liverpool. The Grade II listed Isla Gladstone Conservatory is a sight to behold, as are the bandstand and the sandstone pavilions. The park was originally designed by eminent landscape architect Edward Kemp, and opened in 1870. It is famously sandwiched in between the home grounds of Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs, and in fact Everton played their home matches within the park until 1882.
