Volunteer at Bold Forest Park

There is a group that meets in Bold Forest Park, in St Helens, every Tuesday, 10am – 2pm. The group focus on conservation work across The Mersey Forest’s sites in Bold Forest Park. These activities include woodland management, tree planting, heathland and peatland restoration and grassland management.

Our sites include, Bold Moss North, Griffin Wood and Queen Elizabeth II Royal Mail Woodland. There will be opportunities to work on other sites across Bold Forest Park too.

If you would like to volunteer as part of this group please get in contact with us.

Join a group

There is a thriving volunteer network in Cheshire and Merseyside, with many groups and organisations managing their local green spaces and woods.

There are always lots of activities going on to get involved with, including tree planting, coppicing, apple picking, and recording wildlife.

We have listed some of these groups below. Please visit their websites or search social media for more details.

  • Friends of Groups – Many parks and woodlands have their own active and passionate Friends groups. An internet search can find them. For example, Friends of Anderton and Marbury, located in Northwich, Cheshire.
  • Tree Wardens – A UK-wide network of volunteer local tree champions. There is an active scheme on the Wirral.
  • Local Authorities – search your local authorities website to find out about volunteering opportunities in your borough.
