Join us in making a difference across Cheshire and Merseyside

Let’s Grow a Better Future for Our Communities

At The Mersey Forest, we are working with local partners, businesses, and residents to create a region where everyone can enjoy woodlands and vibrant green spaces. Together, we are improving the environment, enhancing community health and well-being, and helping neighbourhoods adapt to a changing climate.

By increasing tree cover and supporting communities, we are delivering lasting benefits for generations while helping businesses meet their net-zero ambitions, sustainability objectives, and ESG commitments.

To achieve this shared vision, we need your help. Together, we can make Cheshire and Merseyside great places to live, work, and visit, attracting investment, tourism, and opportunity.

Your funding supports our projects

  • Woodland creation: Imagine helping to create flourishing woodlands that purify the air, shelter wildlife, and provide places of peace and beauty for generations to come. We’ve planted over 10 million trees – join us to help plant 10 million more.
  • Natural Flood Management: Your support enables us to restore and protect flood-prone areas, creating natural defences that reduce flood risks for local families and businesses. Our efforts not only protect local lives and households but also uplift the local economy.
  • School programmes: With your support, we will bring nature to schools, planting woodlands on school grounds, creating Forest School experiences, and introducing children to environmental education. Together, we’ll open pathways for young people to connect deeply with nature and grow into lifelong guardians of our green spaces.
  • Health and wellbeing: We’re turning green spaces into healing spaces through our Natural Health Service (link to NaHS our work page). Every £1 invested generates over £12 in social value, supporting programs that bring renewed strength, peace, and joy to our community members.
